The Class 2 licence also known as CAT C or rigid is the smaller of HGV trucks. A Class 2 licence allows the driver to drive any rigid body up to 3500kg. With a Class 2 licence you could be responsible for transporting loads from a supplier to the customer or client. Training for a Class 2 licence is the perfect driving career opportunity for school leavers, budding professional Class 1 drivers or anyone unsure of what career path they want to pursue. With enough hard work and determination to pass the theory and practical tests required, you’ll be on the road in your first LGV driver role!

How long does the training take?

If you hold a Driver CPC licence you can begin your training for your Class 2 licence, if you do not you will need this. The first step to the training begins with a simple medical exam, once this has been completed usually after one week, we can begin to fill in the forms to put the entitlement on your licence. Within 2 weeks you will begin training and revising for your theory test, hazard perception and module 2 test. Once your practical test has been booked and a pass has been achieved for the theory and hazard perception test, you will your start training for the practical test. Here at Driving Talent, our training programmes take between 4 and 6 days to complete depending on any previous experience.

How quick can I pass the course?

From initial contact with one of the members, the course can be completed in just under 4-6 weeks. Once your theory and hazard perception tests have achieved a pass it is just the final exam to complete. The requirements for the course will also have to be taken into time consideration. The course requires a standard driving licence, a Driver CPC licence and to be at least 18 years of age.
